Starting on April 6, 2018, a new song will be written at Friends4Recovery on the spot, using words from an individual in recovery from opioid addiction who tells their story into a phone, using voice to text. Those words are immediately made into a new song by an experienced local songwriter, who polishes them up over the coming months. Every Friday a new song will appear, until twelve songs are composed and recorded for a fall release. The focus is on opioid experiences, and can be from a the individual or friends or family members. The goal is to have a project that everyone can take part in, making a CD that articulates the mission of Friends4Recovery in helping people with mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders.
